| Almond Chocolate Bar |
I waited for so many days to make this and today I made it..It came exactly how I wanted it to turn out..Original recipe calls for walnuts but I used cashew and almond and still it came so yummy...The bars were crisp on the bottom and extremely chocolaty over the top...If you have some dark chocolate chips, you could skip the cocoa and add that too..This recipe is modified from Yummy O Yummy Blog..So please try this and let me know what you think..
Ingrediants:
For Base:
All Purpose Flour- 2/3 cup / 75 gms / 3 ounces
Butter- 75 gms / 3 ounces (Unsalted)
Sugar- 1/3 cup / 3 ounces / 75 gms
Cashews & Badam- a total of 50 gm / 1/2 cup / 2 ounces
For Chocolate topping:
Cocoa- 40 gms / 1/3 cup / 1.5 ounces
Sugar- 115 gms / 4 ounces / 1/2 cup
Butter-25 gms / 1 ounce
Eggs-2
Vanilla-1 tsp
Water- ¾ cup
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°C(350°F).
In a blender add badam, cashew and sugar and make into a fine powder.
In a bowl put this powder and add flour and butter to it.Rub with your fingers till it forms a coarse sand.
Tip this onto a well buttered Baking pan and press with your hands to make it even.
Put this in the oven and bake for 25-30 min till the top gets golden.
Mean time make the topping..In a sauce pan heat water with butter, till the butter is melted.
Put in sugar, cocoa, vanilla and mix well. Now when it is slightly cold add the egg one at a time and mix well.
Pour this chocolaty topping over the baked base and put back in the oven for 25-30 mins till the top is set.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool down.
Cut into squares and serve...
