Andhra Chicken Iguru / Kodi Iguru

This dish is very new to me and I have not heard about this dish since I started searching for some Andhra recipes...

I made this dish for my sister friends when they visited our house..They all loved it and hope you love it too..

 I am sending this recipe to Blogging Marathan Day 2 in the theme Regional Special...I am doing Andhra Recipe for this whole week..So hope you love it..

Ingrediants:

Chicken-1/2 kg
Dry Red chillies-4
Onion-2 finely chopped
Tomatoes-3 finely chopped
Ginger Garlic paste-1 tblspn
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi-1 tsp
Cumin seeds / Jeerakam- 1tsp
Cardamom / Yelakai-4
Cinnamon / Pattai-1 inch piece
Chilli powder-1 tblspn
Coriander powder-1 tblspn
Salt to taste
Curry leaves-2 spring
Cilantro / Coriander leaves for garnishing

For Masala:
Coconut-1 cup
Cashews-4 tblspn

Method:

Marinate the chicken with turmeric and ginger garlic paste for 15 mins..set this aside for a minute.

Grind coconut and cashews to a smooth paste by adding some water..

Heat oil in a kadai..Add in cardamom,cinnamon,cumin seeds and red chillies..

Add in onions and fry till golden..Now add in ginger and garlic paste and mix well..

Now add in tomatoes and cook till oil separates..

Now add in chilli and coriander powder..Pour in the blender masala and mix well..

In a separate frying pan and oil and fry some curry leaves in..Add in the marinated chicken in this oil and sear on all sides...Remove this and set aside..

Now add this chicken pieces in the gravy and mix well..

Add required amount of water and bring that to boil..Season with salt...

Cover and Cook this on a low flame for 30 mins..

Garnish with cilantro and mix well

Serve hot with rice

Make it into a fine paste
Prepare all other ingrediants
heat oil and crackle in your whole spices

add in onions

and your ginger and garlic paste

now add in tomatoes and mix well

cook till oil separates

add in coriander powder

and chilli powder
cook till oil separates

now add in the ground masala

pour in water

cover and simmer
Now marinate your chicken..Add turmeric powder and ginger and garlic paste

mix well and let it marinate for 15 mins..
now start searing the chicken...Heat oil and add some curry leaves in it..

add the chicken pieces

sear on all sides

remove and set aside

now open up the lid

add the chicken pieces

season with salt
cover and simmer again for 30-40 mins
Untill the chicken is cooked
Serve
I made some chicken roast with this...Will post soon..
