One of my viewer named Sankari requested this recipe and this one is for her...
In our house we always end up with few slices of bread often. And I always wonder what to do with those, hence this recipe. This recipe is great for leftover breads and it makes a complete meal.
This one if best for putting in lunchbox for kids and they will surely love it..It takes only minutes to cook..I actually made this in 15 mins..This is that quick..I hope you love it and let me know what you think..Off you go to the step by step recipe with pictures.
Ingrediants:
Bread – 6 slices
Onion-2 sliced thinly
Tomato-2 chopped finely
Green Chilli-1 sliced lengthwise
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Garam masala powder-1 tsp
Mustard seeds / Kaduku-1 tsp
Cumin seeds / Jeerakam-1 tsp
Oil-1 tblspn + for toasting bread
Salt to taste
Method:
Toast your bread slices in a tawa till well browned. Remove it and cut into small pieces.
Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard and cumin seeds.Let it splatter.
Add in onions and green chillies and fry for 2 min.
Now add in tomatoes and mix well.Add in chilli powder,garam masala powder and salt. Add some water and cook this covered for 5 mins untill the tomatoes turn mushy.
Now add in bread pieces and mix well.
Cook it for 5 mins and serve immediately or put it in lunch box for kids.

I too prepare bread upma but wihtout toasting. I like the idea of toasting here and going to implementit.
