I made this couple of days before on a cold rainy rainy day..I also made some hot and sour chicken soup for dinner..Can you imagine how comforting it was..I had a steaming hot bowlful of this soup and lots of croquettes..My sisters loved it too..
This is perfect for parties or any get togethers, Because it it so easy to make and a little portion yields lots of this tiny morsels..Believe it or not I got around 40 mini bites of this..
I added some Indian touch to the traditional chicken croquettes with some ginger and garlic paste and green chillies...You could add any herbs or spice powders as you wish..My favorite will be oregano or rosemary..
The cool thing about this dish is you could make a ton of this untill breadcrumbs coating and freeze the whole lot in freezer containers..So you can make it whenever you want..Isn’t that cool..
So I hope you love it and off you go to the step by step recipe with pictures..
Ingrediants:
Chicken -1/2 kg
Milk-1 cup or as needed
Flour- 4 tblspn
Breadcrumbs-as needed
Egg-1
Onion-1 chopped very finely
Green Chilli-1 chopped finely
Coriander leaves / Cilantro-2 tblspn chopped
Butter-1 tblspn
Ginger Garlic Paste-1 tblspn
Oil for shallow frying
Salt to taste
Method:
Boil chicken in water for 15-20 mins until cooked and shred it into tiny pieces..I chopped the cooked chicken breast really finely.Set this aside for a moment.
Heat butter in a kadai and add in onions, chilli, cilantro and ginger garlic paste..
Now add in flour and fry for few minutes..Pour in milk slowly while mixing so that no lumps are formed.
Season with salt and mix well..Add in chicken pieces and mix well.
Cook this untill the mixture comes together.
Tip this to a bowl and set it in fridge..Let it chill for 30 mins..
Now take small portions out this and shape into oval shape or your favorite shape..
Now dip the croquettes into flour, then in egg and lastly in breadcrumbs..
Continue doing this till the entire batter gets over..
Now fry the croquettes in oil till golden on both sides..
Drain on a paper towel..
Serve with ketchup or mayo..

Can we substitute flour with rava/sooji in this recipe?
Shilpa I think you can substitute flour with rawa, but you dont need to dip that in egg or breadcrumbs after that...Make croquettes and roll it in rawa( make sure it is fine rawa or use powdered rawa) and then fry it in oil..
I have not tried this, but hope it works..Tell me how it came..
