Ven Pongal Recipe / Ghee Pongal Recipe / Pongal Recipe

Ven Pongal..Pongal, Sambar, Coconut Chutney & Medu Vadai..My favorite breakfast combo ever..I make this quite often atleast twice a month or thrice a month. This is my hubby's favorite combo too. If you plan to make pongal, it has to be served with coconut chutney and sambar. If you have time then please make some crispy medu vada too.

Simple Carrot Dal

Dal is one of the stable of the southindians , moreover it is a stable dish in my house...But usually my mum makes it in the same way,which is by boiling the dal and making a paste of coconut and some spices and adding it to the dal...She wont even forget to make a simple tempering too...

Pineapple Pachadi (Pineapple Cooked in a Yoghurt Coconut Sauce)

Today was really a busy day for me...I woke up at 6.00 in the morning,Yes that is really a unusual one,because I have never done this any day..My usual wakeup time is 7 or 7.30..Please don’t think bad about me..Somehow I couldn’t sacrifice nap’ng for anything..He He..”Everything will change after marriage”-This is the famous quote of Mum all day...

The first thing which I did is uploaded my blog..Then I logged out from my system and started my busy day.. 

Today my mum was little bit tired,so breakfast was upto me..I thought to make a special breakfast ...So I made Venpongal,Quick Sambar and some Tomato Coriander Chutney..It was totally southindian and delicious..I will post recipes soon..

After having a quick breakfast..I just refreshed myself and got ready for visiting my college friends after a year or so.We arranged for this plan a month before and today was the day..

Funfetti Cupcakes with Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting

Hai Friends....Hope you are enjoying your blissful Saturday a lot..I have lots of works to be done and I am in a bit hurry..Before that somehow I want to upload this post...So this post has no introduction, straight to the recipe...I know this recipe speaks for itself..Here you go.


All Purpose Flour / Maida -1 1/2 cup / 180 grams
Granulated Sugar - 1 cup / 200 gms
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Vanilla Essence -1 tsp
Milk - 2/3 cup or 160 ml
Egg Whites - from 2 egg
Butter - 100 gms or ½ cup
Sprinkles as needed
Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting


Preheat the oven to 170°C...Line the muffin tray with cupcake cases..

Mix flour,sugar,baking powder together and set aside..

Mix egg whites,milk together and set aside..

Beat butter and vanilla in a mixing bowl..add in some flour mixture and mix well.

Now pour in half of the milk mixture...Add in rest of the flour mixture...

Pour in all the egg mixture and mix well...Add some sprinkles in this and mix well..

Spoon this on to the cupcake cases...If you wish you can add some sprinkles on top..

Bake it oven for 20-25 mins...

Let this cool completely before icing..

Decorate with your favorite icing and serve..

Take all your ingredients
Take your sprinkles....I have the bigger ones here...
But you can use smaller ones too...
Sift your dry ingrediants
Mix your wet ingrediants
Beat butter and vanilla
add half of the dry ingrediants
pour in half of the wet ingrediants
mix well
add in rest of the dry ingrediants
pour in the wet ingrediants
mix well
add your sprinkles
mix well
Now take your cupcake cases....Thanks Nameeta for the Cases...So Sweet of you...
Fill this with the batter
Looks stunning right...
Let it cool down...
Take your favorite frosting
Decorate your cupcakes
Close up shot
Cherry on top looks great...

Chicken Tikka made in Oven

Hai Friends...Hope you had a great day...

Chicken tikka is a famous dish all over India...Traditionally it is made in tandoor oven,But I made it in normal oven...It still tasted great...

The main thing you should remember is the marination of the chicken...I marinated over night so the flavour went deep into the chicken...You could let it marinate upto 2 days...

You could serve this as it is...But I made Chicken tikka masala with this and served it with rice...I will post it tomorrow...
