Mullu Muruku – Diwali Snack Recipes ( With Videos and Step wise Pictures)

 
I have thought that making muruku is one of the hard job I can imagine..I know many of you have that experience..

But Amma has simplified this process for you..She make the perfect muruku with no effort..Actually in our first batch of muruku making, she took rice and ground it in a grinder and made into a smooth paste..

But in our second batch we took rice flour and mixed it with powdered roasted channa dal flour and made muruku..And I am telling this is more tasty and easier than the first one..

My Favorite Potato Roast / Simple Potato Roast

You all know that I love potatoes..And you can see my love in this blog..Yes I have quite a few recipe for potato here..Go and browse my Recipe Index for all recipes...

This is a kind of potato roast which requires no fancy spices..This recipe is very straight forward..You only need basic two spices and you are done..The one thing about this dish is it requires quite a bit of time to roast..

Keralan Carrot Pachadi


If you are in a hurry or if you need any quick side dish for pulav or rice..Then this is the answer..

I even loved to have this as it is in a bowl with a spoon..It is a kind of cooling and refreshing at the same time.Since there is no coconut in this you can have it as a salad..

Mint Chutney for Idli or Dosa


If you love the smell and flavour of mint then this chutney is for you...It has a slight sweet flavour comes through as you have this chutney...This chutney is perfect with hot idlis. I hope you love this chutney...Check out the step by step recipe with pictures..

Ingrediants:

Mint Leaves-2 cups
Onion-1 chopped
Garlic-1 fat clove
Cumin seeds / Jeerakam-1 tsp
Tamarind-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar / Jaggery -1 tsp
Oil-1 tblspn

Method:


Heat oil in a kadai and add in cumin seeds..Let it crackle..

Now add in garlic and onions and mix well.

Add mint leaves and allow it to wilt..

Add tamarind,salt and sugar and mix well.

Let it cool down..Grind it in a blender till smooth.

Serve with idli or dosa..

Chop up your onion and garlic

wash your mint leaves..

heat oil in a pan

add in cumin seeds

throw in onions and garlic

saute for 1 min

add in mint leaves

cook untill it is wilted

add in salt,sugar and tamarind

mix well

take this in a blender

and make it into a fine paste

Serve
