Who hasn’t heard of one of those “low carbohydrate” diets
that have been promoted over the last decade?

Virtually everyone reading this blog I would think.
The bottom line though is that a low carbohydrate diet is
just that– a diet. And its purpose is to
help someone lose weight.
For many folks that’s a good enough reason to do a low carb
diet, but many are finding out there’s another great reason to be on a low carb
diet. And that reason is a fungal
infection within the body. Or more
precisely a candida yeast infection.
Chances are you’ve never heard of a candida yeast
infection. That’s understandable– most
people haven’t, even though they may be suffering because of it.
Perhaps the most common affliction that’s connected to a
candida yeast overgrowth would be a vaginal yeast infection… But keep in mind
this just isn’t a “female” problem. Men
can also suffer from a candida yeast overgrowth. How so you ask?
·
Irregularity like chronic constipation and
diarrhea
·
Nail fungus
·
Athlete’s foot
·
Gas and bloating
·
Fatigue
·
“Foggy” thinking
·
Fibromyalgia like aches and pains
·
Food sensitivities
·
Oral thrush
·
Various types of skin rashes
·
Itchy skin
A candida yeast problem can affect men, women, young and
old. You may be asking what a candida
yeast overgrowth is precisely. Here’s how it occurs according to many
experts…
In our intestinal tract are two “camps”, the bacteria “camp”
and the fungus “camp”. Here are a couple
things to keep in mind.
Many believe that bacteria are bad– that all bacteria are
bad. The fact is bacteria within our
bodies serve a very useful purpose. The
first is that it helps break down the food we digest. The second is that the bacteria help keep the
fungus under control, and that’s good thing.
Here’s why fungus is such a problem…
Many confuse fungus and bacteria, but they are totally
different organisms. I’ve already talked
about bacteria, and here’s what fungus does– Well not much of anything other
than eat the carbohydrates (sugars) we put into our bodies and the expel waste
product into our bodies.
We then suffer a number of potential allergic reactions to
that waste product the fungus expels.
Here’s on it all works.
1.
We have candida yeast fungus living in our intestinal
tract
2.
We eat lots of foods that are heavy in
carbohydrates
3.
The fungus dines on those sugars and expels
waste product
4.
We have an allergic reaction (and maybe even
more than one) to that waste product
5.
We potentially suffer one if not more health challenges
due to what happens in steps 1 through 4
Take a look at that look of potential health issues
again. Are you suffering with any of
those? If so you might want to consider
some sort of plan to bring the candida yeast fungus within your body back under
control. And a key component of that
plan could be a low carbohydrate diet.
