Traditional Chicken Curry / Nagercoil Chicken Kulambu


This is the chicken curry which we make on most of the occasion, when there is parties, functions or regular weekends. This is the curry which i learned to cook my first non veg curry. Because you can never go wrong with them. It is so basic, the spice which we add is store bought chicken masala powder. If you cannot find that add a mixture of chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder. But i am sure that you can find chicken masala powder in any shop.

This curry taste great with rice, paratha, roti, idli, dosa or anything. It is a very versatile curry. I hope you will love it and let me know what you think.

What is more comforting on a cold rainy day than a cup of chai. Specially when the simple chai is flavoured with stuffs likes cardamom and ginger or chai masala. They take the cuppa to the next level. My mum want tea daily two times. But i am not like that. I have it when i feel like having one. On those days i make special cup of tea. This mint chai is my recent favorite. I found some fresh mint leaves on my backyard, so i plucked few of them and added to the tea and it was so unbelievably flavourful. Gothumai Ulundu Kanji / Wheat Dal Kanji - Diabetics Special Recipes


Me and my husband loves ulundu kanji, specially he loves it so much. Commonly we add rice instead of wheat in the kanji and have it. But i prefer this recipe rather for the rice version. I learned this recipe from my mom and it is my all time fav. This is very healthy recipe and has no fat at all. Specially this is one of the best food to give for diabetic patients. The wheat which i used in this recipe is called as oosi gothumai, it is thin shaped wheat which is slightly broken. But you can use regular coarse variety of broken wheat which is also known as dalia or samba gothumai ravai. And the dal is broken black urad dal with husk in it, you can add whole urad dal with husk in it.

In my opinion till last week, snake gourd is one of the under estimated veggies in the world. I hate it so much, because of the mushy poriyal which my mum makes often. Believe it or not I have never tried that even once, but the look of it makes me to hate it. 

But last week, our neighbour gave us this beautiful fresh snake gourd which has grown in their backyard. When i saw that, i thought of trying something with it, because it was so fresh and i just wanna taste that. So i made half into this bajji and other half into a simple poriyal. That is the first time i tasted this veggie and it tasted so yum. Specially this bajji is so yum.

Lemonade / Basic Lemonade Recipe


Lemonade is my favorite drink of all time. We call it as Lemon juice, and make it probably daily. But I just add some sugar and a touch of salt in some lemon juice and fill it with cold water and have it. It is just plain juice and taste fantastic when we have it after a long day in sun.
