Preparation Time : 10 mins
Resting Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 2 to 3 min per batch
Gram Flour / Besan / Kadalai Mavu / Chickpea Flour – 1 cup
Corn Flour / Cornstarch – 1 tblspn
Onion – 2 large sliced thinly
Potato – 1 large peeled and cubed
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Chat Masala Powder – 1 tblspn
Salt to taste
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Water – 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup
Take all ingredients in a bowl except oil and mix well. Add water slowly and make a thick batter. Keep the batter aside for 15 mins.
Heat oil for deep frying.
Now use a spoon to drop small amount of batter in hot oil. Fry till golden and crispy.
Drain and serve.
|Take all your ingredients…You need some cornflour as well|
|Take onions and potatoes in a bowl|
|add in the spices, salt and baking soda|
|add in gram flour|
|add in cornflour|
|add little water|
|Make it into a thick mixture|
|Set aside for 15 mins..the batter will get a little loose,
since onions will leach out some water
|now drop small spoonful of batter in oil|
|fry till crispy and golden|
|fry them well|
