Every thursday i fast and offer something to sai baba. I have been doing it for the past few weeks. I decided to take pictures of that prasadham which i am making and share it here. Last week i made sheera, this week it is mango sago kheer.
Since it is mango season, i thought of making mango recipes to share it. The first one which came to my mind is this one. Not only it is easy to make, but it is delicious to eat cold.

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 35 to 40 mins
Serves: 5 to 7
Sago / Sabudana / Javarisi – 1 cup
Full Fat Milk – 1 liter
Sugar – 1 cup
Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
Saffron a pinch
Ripe Mango – 2 pureed
Ripe Mango – 1 chopped finely
Take sago in a bowl, soak it in water for 15 mins. Now drain it and add it in a pressure cooker, cover with water and pressure cook for 1 whistle. turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself. Open the cooker, drain it and rinse it in lots of cold water, set aside.
Now take sugar and milk in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Once it boil, simmer and cook till it reduces a little.
Now add in the drained sago and cook for few more mins.
Take it off the heat and add in cardamom powder and saffron. Mix well.
Pour this in a bowl and chill till it is cold. It will thicken a lot.
Now take mango in a blender,puree smooth. Add this into the cold kheer, add chopped mangoes as well. mix well.
Chill before serving. Serve cold.

|cover with water ad let it soak for 15 mins|
|take it in a cooker, cover with water|
|pressure cook for 1 whistle|
|strain it and rinse in cold water|
|now take sugar in a sauce pan|
|cover with milk|
|bring it to a boil and simmer for 15 to 20 mins till it reduces|
|add drained sago in|
|simmer this for few more mins|
|now remove this to a bowl|

|add some saffron|
|mix well and set aside to cool|
|you can see as it cools it thickens a lot|
|now take some mango flesh in a blender|
|puree till smooth|
|add it in|
|add chopped mangoes|
|i added some more milk to reach the perfect consistency..Chill before serving|
