This is a quick version of chana masala. It calls for the basic spices and masalas and taste just yummy.This is a simple curry which taste really delicious. It is simple to make and goes great with roti, chapati, phulka, ghee rice or pulao.

Serves: 2 to 3
Ingredients:
Chana / Chickpeas – 2 cups cooked
Oil – 1 tblspn
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
Onion – 1 medium size chopped finely
Green chillies – 2 chopped finely
Tomatoes – 2 large chopped finely
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Pav Bhaji Masala Powder – 1 tblspn
Dried Fenugreek Leaves / Kasuri Methi Leaves – 1 tblspn
Coriander Leaves a handful finely chopped
Method:
Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin and let them sizzle.
Add onions and chillies and cook till golden brown.
Add in tomatoes and cook that for couple of mins.
Add in all spice powders except garam masala powder and mix well.
Add salt to taste.
Now add in chickpeas and mix well.
Add enough water to cover the chickpeas. Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistle.
Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself.
Open the cooker, add kasuri methi leaves and garam masala powder.
Mash some of the chickpeas using the back of the spoon.
Add coriander leaves.
Serve.

mash some of the chana using the spoon, add coriander leaves and serve |
