Bengali Bhindi Shorshe Recipe - Ladiesfinger Poppyseed Curry Recipe
Ingredients
- Ladiesfinger - 10 cut into big pieces
- Potato - 2 peeled and cut into wedges
- Tomato - 2 chopped finely
- Dry Red Chilli - 2
- Turmeric Power / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Sugar - 1 tblsp
- Mustard Oil - ¼ cup
FOR GRINDING:
- Poppy Seeds / Khus Khus/ Kasa Kasa - 4 tblsp
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 2 tblsp
- Green Chilli - 2
Instructions
- Soak mustard seeds and poppy seeds in warm water for 30 mins. Drain and take it in a blender along with chillies and grind till smooth.
- Heat oil in a pan, add okra and fry till golden. Remove to a bowl.
- In the same oil add in potatoes and cook till crispy. Add tomatoes and mix well.
- Add in dry red chilli, turmeric powder and mix well.
- Add in poppy seed mix and cook till it thickens and raw smell leaves.
- Add in salt and sugar and mix well.
- Add in fried okra and mix well.
- Serve with rice.
