My lil one turned 3 months old couple days back. And i have returned to my home. Till that i was staying in my mom’s place. I didn’t had much work to do while i was there. But now every work has returned to my head. And i am a bit on a tight schedule because i have to look after my lil one alone. So if you sent me any mail, you wont get response like before. But i promise i will reply you within 24 hours. I definitely need some time to get to normal schedule.

I love kofta curries..I have few kofta recipes in my blog. There is
something about the fried balls when soaked in a silky tomato sauce
turns out so soft and melt in mouth. I love it to the core..I have
decided to try out more recipes soon..The cool thing is you could enjoy
the fried kofta as it is too.. Check out my malai kofta curry, shahi chicken kofta curry..So give this a try and let me know how it turned out for you..

Preparation Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 40 to 45 mins
Serves : 5 to 6

Ingredients:

For Kofta:
Oil – 1 tsp + for deep frying
Cauliflower – 1 small flower grated / 3 cups of packed grated cauliflower
Potatoes – 1 large boiled, peeled and grated
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder / Malli podi – 2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Cornstarch / Cornflour – 3 tblspn
Baking soda – 1/2 tsp

For Gravy:
Oil – 2 tblspn
Cumin Seeds / Jeerkam – 1 tsp
Tomato – 3 large pureed
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder /Malli podi – 1 tblspn
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi – 1 tsp
Garam Masala powder – 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tsp
Water as needed
Cream – 1/2 cup ( I used Amul fresh cream)
Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

Heat 1 tsp of oil. Add in grated cauliflower and saute it for a good 5 to 8 mins till it is half cooked and raw smell leaves from it.

Now transfer this to a mixing bowl. Add in grated potatoes and all the items given for kofta to this and make into thick mix.

Make small balls from it. Heat oil for deep frying. Fry those balls in hot oil for 3 to 4 mins on medium heat till it is golden. Drain and set aside.

Now make the gravy. Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin seeds and let it sizzle.

Now add in the tomato puree and cook till oil separates from it.

Add in salt, sugar and all spice powder and mix well for a min.

Now pour in water and bring this to a boil. Simmer the flame and cook for 10 mins till oil separates from it.

Now add in cream and mix well.  Add in coriander leaves and mix well. This is the gravy.

Add the fried kofta before serving. Heat the gravy a bit and add the kofta. Let it sit there for 10 mins before serving.

Enjoy this with hot chapati, naan or roti.

@Sharanya SkarpMy cauliflower was clean and white, so i grated it. You can soak them in warm water for 5 mins then grate it.
