    This is such a versatile spice powder to have on hand. Because they turn any simple dish extraordinary with their touch. You can make any south indian kulambu with this powder, you dont have to worry about any spices and stuffs like that..

    Preparation Time : 10 mins
    Cooking Time : 15 mins
    Makes : 2 cups of spice powder

    Ingredients:

    Dry Red Chillies - 35 to 40
    Coriander Seeds / Mullu Kothamalli - 1 cup
    Chana Dal / Kadala Paruppu - 2 tblspn
    Toor Dal / Tuvaram Paruppu - 2 tblspn
    Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 2 tsp
    Whole Black Pepper - 1 tblspn
    Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - 1 tsp
    Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tblspn


    Method:

    Take all the ingredients except turmeric and asafoetida in a pan and dry roast them on low heat till golden. 

    Now add in turmeric and asafoetida. Mix well. Cool this completely.

    Take this in a blender and powder them finely.


    Take them in a air tight container and use in your dishes.

    in goes cumin seeds

    and whole black pepper

    now time to roast them

    roast them on a very low heat

    keep mixing

    they will turn golden

    now add in turmeric powder and asafoetida

    mix that well

    take the whole spices in a blender

    powder them finely
    Pin
    remove it to a bowl and let the spices cool down

    store in a air tight container and use in your dishes

      Wow!! Yhe powder is very handy and I am making grounded masala using dis powder, onion n ginger garlic in seconds.. as d spices are already powdered.
      And the kulambu made using this powder gives a wonderful taste and making the dish delicious.
