Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Hai Friends…. Hope everyone is getting ready for a long weekend..Today’s recipe is one of most delicious one..I have been waiting for a while to make this recipe..Last week I made it..I modified this recipe as per my taste and availability of ingrediants over here…The original recipe calls for marshmallows..But I substituted it with peanut butter..The peanut butter which I used is not the store bought stuff, this is a homemade peanut butter,I have posted the recipe for this in my previous post do check that or just click this link to check the recipe. The original recipe calls for half of normal sugar and half of brown sugar..In my place I could not found brown sugar so I substituted it with Jaggery and Honey, still it cameout great..If you are pure vegetarian, you could substitute eggs with a little milk or cream..
Ingrediants:
Flour-1 3/4 cup / 200 gms
Sugar-125 gms /1/2 cup
Brownsugar / Jaggery(sarkarai)-1/4 cup / 80 gms
Honey-1/3 cup / 50 ml
Vanilla-1 tsp
Salt a pinch
Graham Cracker or any Cracker- 10 to15 pieces / 3/4 cup
Butter-1/2 cup /100 gm
Peanut butter-1 cup / 250 gms
Egg-1
Baking powder-1 tsp
Milk chocolate(I used dairy milk)-as needed to cover a pan
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°C(350°F).
Take a square tin and line it with parchment paper and butter on all sides.
Mix salt and baking powder with flour and set this aside.
Take the cracker in a food processor and make into a fine powder.Set this aside for a moment.
Take a mixing bowl and add in melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, honey and mix well.Add in vanilla essence and mix well.
Drop a egg in this and beat until combined.Throw in the cracker powder and mix well.
Add in the prepared flour mixture and fold gently until combined.
Take half of the prepared cracker batter and tip into the tin.Spread it evenly.
Place the milk chocolate over this to cover completely.
Spoon the peanut butter over this and spread it evenly.
Again take the remaining half of the cracker batter and spread over this evenly.
Place this into the preheated oven and let it cook for 30-35 min or until golden on top.
Remove this from the oven and let it cool down completely. When it has cooled down, cut into squares and enjoy.
Pictorial:
Grab your ingrediants
Line a tin with parchment paper
Mix salt,baking powder with flour
Powder the biscuits
Mix Butter,sugar,brown sugar,honey together
Mix in vanilla essence
Add in eggs and beat well
Throw in the powdered cracker crumbs
Mix in the flour mixture
All mixed well
Assemble the bar..First take half of the cracker batter and spread it evenly..Then add in chocolate bars…Then spoon over the peanut butter and spread it evenly..Then tip in the remaining cracker batter and spread evenly
Then bake this to perfection..Cut in to squares
SERVE
Lovely layers
