Healthy and colourful looking beetroot idiyappam. A unique way to include beets in your kids diet.
  • Rice Flour - 1 cup (store bought)
  • Beetroot - ½ cup grated
  • Water - ½ cup to ¾ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee - 1 tblsp
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku -1/2 tsp
  1. Take water in a sauce pan, add beetroots and boil it. Strain it.
  2. Add salt and rice flour and knead to a dough.
  3. Now put the dough in idiyappam press and make idiyappam.
  4. Steam for 5 mins.
  5. Remove it and fork it gently to separate the strands.
  6. Now heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds. Add idiyappam and salt. Mix well.
  7. Put in lunch box.
