Toor Dal Rice Upma Recipe

Healthy and nutritous rice and toor dal upma is not only easy to make. This taste fantastic for breakfast or dinner.
Ingredients
  • Raw Rice - 1 cup
  • Toor Dal - ½ cup
  • Oil - 2 tblsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi a pinch
  • Onion - 1 chopped finely
  • Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves a sprig
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Water as needed
Instructions
  1. Take raw rice and toor dal in a blender and powder till fine.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard, and all ingredients given and saute for a min.
  3. Add in 1 cup water for 1 cup ground powder.
  4. Bring it to a boil.
  5. Once it boils add in the flour. Mix well using the back of the spoon.
  6. If it is not crumbly add more flour and mix well.
  7. Cook till it gets crumbly.
  8. Cover and simmer for 5 mins.
  9. Serve.
