Onion Turmeric Chutney Recipe - Side Dish for Breakfast Recipes

Delicious onion and turmeric chutney which taste so good with idli, dosa or anything you wish. A healthy chutney for your breakfast menu.
  • Oil - 1 tblsp
  • Dry Red Chillies - 4 to 5
  • Onion - 2 large chopped
  • Tomato - 1 chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric Powder - 2 tsp
  • Tamarind a small piece
  • Oil - 2 tblsp
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi a pinch
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add dry red chillies and toast till golden. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add onions and saute for a min.
  3. Add tomatoes and mix well.
  4. Add salt and turmeric and tamarind and cook till mushy..
  5. Take it in a blender and puree till smooth. Add water as needed. Take it in a bowl.
  6. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and asafoetida and mix well.
  7. Pour it into the chutney and mix well.
  8. Serve
