Eggless Chocolate Cake Recipe

I have been making quite a few chocolate cakes recently for my clients. Couple weeks back i got a order for eggless chocolate cake. I wanted to make a new recipe, i came across a eggless cake recipe from raks kitchen, loved it so much. I tried it and found that the cake came so moist and soft.

This cake recipe make two 15 cm round cakes, which you can sandwich with any of your favorite frosting and make a two layered cakes. If you dont want to frost it, just bake it in a large rectangle pan, or half the recipe. I took few spoons of batter and baked it in my small heart pan to show you how it looks..So give this a try and let me know how it turns out..
 
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 35 to 40 mins
Makes One Two layered Cake
 
Ingredients:
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3 cups / 360 grams
Sugar – 2 cups / 400 grams
Cocoa Powder – 1/2 cup
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 2 tsp
Vinegar – 2 tblspn
Vanilla Essence – 2 tblspn
Oil – 3/4 cup / 180 ml
Water – 2 cup / 480 ml
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Method:
Preheat oven to 180 Degree C. Grease two round cake pan and dust it with flour and coat on all sides, tap off the excess flour. Set aside.
Now in a bowl, mix water, oil, vanilla, sugar, vinegar and mix well, Set aside till the sugar is melted.
Now in another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cocoa and salt. Sieve this mix.
Now add this mix to the bowl of wet ingredients and mix well.
Transfer this to the prepared cake pan and bake for 35 to 40 mins.
Remove it from oven, cool it, then invert it and frost as you wish..
 

Pictorial:
Take all your ingredients
First mix up wet ingredients.. Take water in a bowl

 

Add oil

 

Add sugar

 

add in vinegar

 

add in vanilla

 

Mix well and set aside till the sugar is melted
Take flour in a bowl

 

Add cocoa powder

 

add in salt

 

Add in baking soda

 

mix well

 

add it in a sifter

 

sieve them

 

By now the sugar is melted

 

Add the flour mix in

 

Fold well

 

batter done

 

Pour it in prepared cake pan

 

Bake them, cool and invert them

 

This cake recipe, makes two round cakes..
I made that for my client, i made a small cake
for taking pictures for this blog..

    can v make it in 8inch mould as a single cake.. no need for ganache ?is it tasty by itself?

    @AnonymousYou can halve the recipe and use that mould to make this cake. Yes it taste great as it is

    Hi Aarthi I am regular follower of.ur blog n almost tried all recipies n dey all turnout yum…I tried dis cake too..but somehow dis cake turned out sourish bitter…l.guess coz of excess soda..I added soda bi carbonate is dat a correct ingredient I have added?

    @Saloni Kocharuse the mentioned amount of the baking agent. Yes baking soda is soda bi carb.

    @shobause 90 ml oil, and the temp will be same. timing will vary by the pan size

    hey aarti.. Do we need to beat the batter hard and for longer time as we do it in an egg cake..??/ bcoz i think i beated d batter hard dats the reason my cake shrinked down completely in d middle and was a waste… reply asap.. 🙂

    I prepared this cake using lemon juice instead of vinegar and milk instead of water, what difference would it make if I followed your ingredients?? Please advice. I love your recipes…

    If 3 cup flour is 360 gram, then how come 2 cup sugar is 400 grams ?
