I love to have light and healthy breakfast..I don’t like to have sweet stuffs for breakfast.  Most of the days my breakfast will be some juice or fruits. I often have bread with egg, and I love it too. But some day I don’t like to have eggs in the morning, then I was trying to get some egg substitute in my dishes ..Hence this dish was invented.

This French toast taste more or less like egg toast..I even have a recipe for vegetarian scrambled egg with this gram flour.I will post that soon..
This one is perfect for busy morning because the stuffs which you add in this is entirely your choice..You could add tons of grated vegetables in this batter. You could use your favorite spice powders in the batter Or you could make it simple by only adding cilantro and carry on. Every time it taste awesome..
So without any delay off you go to the step by step recipe with pictures.
Ingrediants:
Bread – 4 slices
Gram Flour / Besan / Kadalai mavu- 1 cup
Onion-1 chopped finely
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi-1 tsp
Chilli Powder- ½ tsp
Garam Masala Powder – ½ tsp
Green Chilli-1 chopped finely
Salt to taste
Oil-2 tblspn
Water as needed
Method:
Take a shallow bowl and add gram flour, chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, onions, green chilli, salt and mix well.
Pour in some water and make a thin batter.
Heat a tawa with a tblspn of oil. Take a slice of bread and dip it in the batter and toast it the tawa on both sides till golden and cooked.
Serve hot or warm with a cup of chai or tea.
Pictorial:
Take all your ingrediants
add gram flour in a bowl
add in onions and chillies
now add in spices and salt
pour in water
and make a thin batter
dip the bread in this
on both sides
toast in a tawa
till golden..
Now serve
I love to have a cup of black tea or green tea for my breakfast
Delicious..
This crockery set is given to me by my perimma..

    Hi Aarthi,

I love all the recipes of urs. A constant visitor of your page..Today i tried this recipe with brown bread. Unfortunately it did not taste well. The kadalamavu was not properly cooked inside ..Was not upto our expectations. Appreciate if you could advise what would have went wrong???

@Gayathry Vdrizzle generous amount of oil and cook. so the best will be cooked, also cook on a medium low heat for a little bit more time.
