    Mango Lassi is a creamy, sweet, and refreshing drink made with ripe mangoes, curd, sugar, and a touch of cardamom. This drink is popular during the hot summer months. This mango lassi is also called as aam lassi, mango yogurt shake, or mango smoothie.

    This mango lassi is enjoyed as a dessert drink or a cooling mid-day treat. The process of making this drink is very simple and easy. This Mango Lassi is a natural energy booster and and a it acts as perfect a summer drink.

    Mango lassi a refreshing summer drink made with ripe sweet mangoes and curd. It is so cooling at the same time very tasty to drink. I love to add few cardamom pods in this drink, because it gives a little special flavour to this yummy drink. You could play with these kind of lassi a lot, you could add any of your favorite fruits in them.

    Mango Lassi is served during the summer to beat the heat. This lassi is loved for its rich taste and smooth texture. This mango lassi is a delicious drink Which is perfect for scorching summer. This drink has a perfect combination of sweet, tangy and refreshing flavours. 

    Once in a childhood while traveling to North India I tasted this mango lassi where vendor pour fresh mango pulp and thick curd into a large clay pot and churned it with a wooden wisk. He served it in a cold glass topped with pistachioa. That made me to fell in love with the drink.

    This mango lassi can also be flavored with rose water, saffron for a unique twist.

    Simple ingredients: This mango lassi is made with just a few ingredients. This drink is easy to make and even easy for beginners.

    Why I love this recipe - This drink gives me the joy of a milkshake or ice cream. But it has fewer calories and more nutrition.  When I have overripe mangoes I make this lassi. This is a gold recipe.  It is a best drink for summer. Which gives soothing, calming, and satisfying feeling without being heavy.

    Customizable: This summer drink is easily customizable. We can swap curd with vegan yogurt for a plant-based version.

    Natural energy drink: This drink is packed with natural sugars, carbs, and probiotics. This a natural energy drink and keeps you full for long time.

    Ingredients

    Ripe Mango: Sweet and juicy mangoes are the hero of the recipe. It gives rich flavor, bright color, and natural sweetness. 

    Sugar: If the mangoes are not too sweet sugar gives the sweetness.

    Curd: It gives lassi the creamy and tangy flavour. It gives a cooling effect.

    Cardamom: This gives a nice aroma and a traditional Indian flavor. It makes the lassi to smell more festive.

    Ice Cubes: Ice keeps the lassi cold and refreshing. It also helps thin the drink if it's too thick.

    Water: This helps adjust the consistency of the lassi. Add more or less water according to the thickness.

    Hacks

    • Use cold curd and cold mango cubes. This saves blending with ice and keeps the lassi thick and cool.
    • Taste your mangoes first. If the mangoes are sweet then don't add sugar at all.
    • This drink is easily customizable. Try to add rose water, saffron milk, mint leaves, or a dash of cinnamon for a new version each time.
    • Garnish the mango lassi with chopped nuts, mint leaves, or a pinch of cardamom powder to make the drink taste festive.

    Mango Lassi Recipe (Step by Step)

    Take some ripe sweet mangoes
    Peel em
    Chop them
    Take your other ingredients
    Add some ripe mangoes in a blender
    Add some sugar
    peel em
    Add cardamom seeds
    Add curd
    Add in ice cubes
    Add in some cold water
    puree them

    • Use sweet, non-fibrous mango varieties like Alphonso, Banganapalli, or Kesar for the best texture and flavor.
    • Use fresh curd that's not tangy, or it can overpower the sweetness of the mango.
    • Strain the lassi through a fine sieve after blending for a smooth, better consistency.
    • Keep your glasses in the fridge for 10 minutes before pouring. This keeps the lassi cold for longer.
    • Add a spoon of mango pulp at the bottom or swirl some on top before serving. It gives a fancy look.
    •  Add water little by little while blending to control the thickness.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 large Ripe Mango peeled and cubed
    • 4 tablespoon Sugar
    • ½ cup Plain Yogurt (Curd)
    • ¼ teaspoon Ground Cardamom take the seed out
    • Ice Cubes
    • 1 cup Water

    Instructions
     

    • Pre-prep: Peel the ripe mango and cut it into small cubes. Remove the seeds from the cardamom pods and keep them ready. Keep curd, mango, and water chilled for a colder lassi. Gather all ingredients on the counter to save time.
    • Making: Add mango cubes, curd, sugar, cardamom seeds, ice cubes, and water into a blender. Blend everything until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
