Fried Sweet Corn Nuggets
Today’s recipe is a requested recipe from one of my friend…It is so easy to make and ofcourse delicious to eat..This is a very mild dish so I served it up with hot sauce(Don’t worry I have given recipe below)…I promise you this is one of the best fried nuggets you ever had…It is crispy on the outside and yet soft and fluffy in middle…Many people use cream style sweetcorn, but some how I don’t like that taste. This is how I do it, I took half of the corn and pureed it and half I left in whole…If you don’t eat eggs, ofcourse you could skip that….In this recipe,I have given pictures of how to remove “Corn off the Cob” so it will be really helpful to you.And also while I am removing my corn there is one little “Corn Bandit” waiting to take away the Cob(Check pictures)…Please give it a go and let me know what you think….

Ingrediants:
Whole Sweet corn Kernels-1 cup
Sweet corn-1 cup Pureed
Flour-1 cup
Milk-3/4 cup
Egg-1
Baking powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Oil for deep frying
Method:
Take 1 cup of sweet corn and puree it in a food processor..Mix baking powder with flour and set aside..
Heat oil for deep frying…
In a mixing bowl add 1 egg and beat it till fluffy…Pour in milk and mix well…
Add in sweet corn puree and sweet corn kernels and mix well…
Now add the flour mixture to this and mix well…Season with salt and pepper and mix well..
Now take a spoonfull of this batter in hot oil and fry till golden brown..
Drain this in a paper towel and serve with any hot sauce(Recipe below)
For Hot sauce :
Mix 1 tsp of Red chilli paste with 1/2 cup of Tomato ketchup..
Pictorial:
Take your lovely corn on a cutting board and peel away the outer husk….
Take a knife and cut off the corns just like that…
All cut off…
Now what will you do with the Cob
If you have a little one like this at home just give it to her….In my case she is fighting with me for the cob..
Leave her alone, she will do the job for you…
Ok coming back to corns….All corns beautifully cut off…
Take half of the corn and puree it in a blender
Grab all your ingrediants for this recipe…
Mix baking powder with flour and set aside…
Beat eggs till fluffy
all fluffed up
gradually add in milk and whisk well..
add in corn puree
and whole corn kernals and mix well
dump in the flour mixture
Season with salt
and pepper…
mix well…
take a spoonfull of mixture…
Put them in hot oil and fry till golden…
Fritters looks like gold nuggets…
Serve it immediately with hot sauce
I recommend to eat it hot…

Since it’s fresh sweetcorn time here in Iowa, I was searching Pinterest for a corn “nugget” recipe when I found your recipe for corn “fritters”. Although nuggets usually are coated with a breading with the corn mixture on the inside, I was impressed by your recipe that used FRESH sweetcorn kernels and puree. I thought it sounded delicious and it WAS!! My husband, the pickiest old guy on the planet, loved them! I see this recipe has been around awhile, but I’m so glad I found it! Continued success with your social media endeavors! And Thank You!!
