KFC Original Fried Chicken Recipe – Crispy & Juicy

KFC fried chicken is one of the most requested recipe on my blog. I wanted to make it for quite sometime. Finally i made it last sunday and it was super duper hit. The chicken was so tasty. It was crispy and juicy and so moist and flavourful.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Serves: 4


Ingredients:

Chicken with Skins & Bones On – 1 whole chicken cut into pieces
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 2 cup
Cornflour / Cornstarch – 1/4 cup
Baking Powder – 1/2 tsp
Cornflakes – 3/4 cup
Garlic Powder – 1 tblspn
Onion Powder – 1 tblspn
Dried Thyme – 1 tblspn
Dried Oregano- 1 tblspn
Dried Basil- 1 tblspn
Paprika- 1 tblspn
Black Pepper- 1 tblspn+ more
Salt – 1 tblspn + more
Egg – 1 to 2
Milk – 1/4 cup
Oil for deep frying

Method:

Take chicken and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Beat eggs with milk and set aside.

Take flour, cornflour, baking powder, spice mix and salt and mix well. Set aside.

Take chicken and coat in the flour. Set aside.

Take cornflakes in a blender and crush coarsely. Add this to the remaining flour and mix well.

Now take chicken and dip in egg and coat in the cornflakes flour mix and set aside to dry for 5 mins.

Heat oil in a pan. Drop chicken in and fry for 1 min on high on each side. Now reduce the heat and cook for 12 to 15 mins till it is cooked.

Drain and serve.

Pictorial:

take all your spices for the mix
use chicken with bones and skins on

crack egg and add milk in a bowl
whisk well
take flour in a bowl
add cornflour
add baking powder
add spice mix along with salt
mix well
coat the chicken in this flour mix 
set aside
take cornflakes in a mixer
crush coarsely
add that to the remaining flour mix
mix well and set aside
take chicken and coat in egg mix
now coat in the flour mix
like this
set aside for 5 mins
drop chicken in hot oil
flip over and cook for 1 min on each side on high heat
simmer the flame and cook for 12 to 15 mins
done
serve

    hi.. Corn flakes contain a little sweetness right… Do you mean the normal Kellogs plain corn flakes? Kindly suggest

    i was shown demo how they make kfc chicken in an outlet once. what they did was, first they dipped the chicken in flour mix. then they quickly dipped it in water and dipped it again in the same flour mix. this way, the water droplets become the flakes we see. the process has to be quick to get good number of flakes. u can try that instead of corn flakes.
