I have mentioned before that i couldn't find kuthiraivalli and varagu in my super market, but couple days back when i visited i found those, immediately i picked a packet of those. I also found some dried neem flowers too. So i picked a packed of those too.You will soon see a rasam recipe in my blog featuring those flowers.
I have posted quite a few millet recipes in my blog. You can check all of them here. The first recipe which i made using the barnyard millet is this upma. I am yet to make so many recipe. So stay tuned..
Take all your ingredeints |
Take your barnyard millets |
wash them well |
drain them |
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and crackle the tempering item |
Add in shallots, green chillies and curry leaves |
saute for a min |
Add in tomatoes |
season with some salt |
cook them |
now they have turned mushy |
Add in chilli, turmeric and coriander powder |
mix well |
add in millets |
saute them for few mins |
add in water |
bring it to boil |
cover and cook |
open the cooker and let it sit for 10 mins |
add coriander leaves and fluff up |
serve |
