    மீன் குழம்பு / Meen Kulambu / Fish Steaks Cooked in a Spicy Coconut Sauce

    This is a updated recipe of one of my post, I have deleted my old post . This recipe is way better than the old post.
    Are you looking for a proper fish curry, then this is it. This recipe is given from my mother. she is a pure vegetarian, but she knows to cook fish. She told me to try this fish curry and i did it too..It came out so good..I hope you will try it soon..

    Ingredients:
    Fish Pieces - ½ kg (Any White Fleshed Fish will do)
    Tamarind Pulp - 2 tblspn
    Coconut Oil- 2 tblspn
    Curry leaves a spring
    Salt to taste
    For Masala:
    Coconut - 1 cup
    Dry Red Chilli - 5
    Shallots / Sambar Onion - 5
    Coriander Powder / Malli Podi - 1 tblspn
    Cumin Powder / Jeeraka Podi - 1 tsp
    Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
    Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
    Method:
    Take all the ingrediants given for the masala in a blender and make into a fine puree.
    Add that to a kadai and pour required amount of water.
    Add in tamarind and salt and mix well.
    Bring this to a boil.
    Add in the fish pieces and cook for 10 mins or untill the fish is done.
    Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add curry leaves to it and fry them for 30 seconds.
    Pour this over the curry and mix well.

    take everything in a blender

    and make into a fine puree

    Transfer that to a large kadai
    Pin
    add tamarind

    and salt
    Pin
    mix well
    Pin
    add fish in
    Pin
    and bring everything to a boil and cook

    Heat oil in a kadai and splatter some curry leaves

    pour that in
    Pin
    and mix well
    Pin
    Serve

      what to do to get fish curry thick?? when i tried its always watery... im nt getting gravy consistency like in the picture....

      @Anonymousadding less water to the ground masala will give you thicker gravy
