Methi Pakora
Fenugreek leaves are readily available in the market, but many of us wont choose that because of the bitter taste it has and also many don’t know how to use that…I have a little tip of taking away the bitter taste out of fresh fenugreek leaves…buy a bunch of methi leaves and chop it up,place this in a colander and salt it liberally, leave that for 30 min.after 30 min just squeeze away the water, you can use these leaves for you dishes they wont have that much bitter taste…If you are using dried leaves just soak it in water,
Squeeze and use it

And for the those people who don’t know what to do with methi leaves…Kalyani from What’s Cooking have announced a event “Cooking with Fenugreek”..It is really a good one..Because many people have given their recipes with fenugreek..There are 31 entries so far…So people those who don’t know what to do with methi, check that, there are a wide range of recipes….
My recipe for cooking with methi is pakora’s..They are really yummy…they call for simple ingredient..Since I couldn’t get fresh one I am using dried..I soaked it first in water and then I used it.I added potatoes to it which gives a nice taste to this.
Ingrediants:
Methi leaves(vendaya keerai)-1 cup(I used dried)
Potato-1 chopped into small pieces
Onion-1 chopped
Coriander leaves-2 tblspn
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Garam masala powder-1 tsp
Gram flour(kadalai mavu)-1 cup
Rice flour(arisi mavu)-1 tblspn
Saunf(sombu)-1 tblspn
Cumin seeds(jeera)-1 tsp
Baking powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Method:
Soak the dried methi leaves in water for 3 min.. drain it and set it aside.
In a mixing bowl, mix everything (except oil) by adding a splash of water and make a thick mixture(it should be thick not so thin)
Heat oil for deep frying and put in small dumplings of this mixture.Fry on a low flame till golden and crisp.
Drain the excess oil and serve hot with ketchup.
Tip:
Growing fenugreek is not a big deal..Take a tub or a pot with mud,Grab some fenugreek seeds…Put these seeds inside the pot and cover it with some sand…Keep it near sunlight..Water it daily…After 2-3 days you will see young plants…You can pluck those leaves and use it in your cooking…
Pictorial:
Ur ingrediants
Mix everything to form a paste..Fry in hot oil
All fried
