Can you substitute baking soda with baking powder? If not what difference will it make? Also is meetha soda the same as baking soda? Thx ...too many querries:)

@AnonymousNo you cannot substitute. Baking powder will make the cake rise too much. Baking soda should be used. Yes meetha soda is called as baking soda.

@AnonymousI think u cannot whip thaose cream. Haven't tried it so far. But if u want to whip them, first whip them till it gets thick, once it gets thick lightly, add in some icing sugar and whip till stiff.

Thought I'd let you know that since I didn't have instant coffee while making this, I replaced the water/milk with actual coffee and it turned out fantastic! The coffee taste isn't too strong and it tastes very fresh. You should try it out!

I was suddenly craving fr something chocolaty n came across this recipe n it was so simple n I made it in a jiffy... Like someone had commented, I substituted 2tbsp milk with 2tbsp freshly brewed coffee n it turned out heavenly... It made me melt... One of the best microwave cakes I'd ever tasted.. Half of it I topped with buttercream frosting n half I topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream... I'm going crazy here over this cake... Thank you so much fr the wonderful recipe..

I just made this today. I think it is even better than the Nutella recipe I have tried before. Mine also took less than 2 minutes (1 min 45 sec). This definitely needs a tall mug since it bubbles up while baking! I happened to have coconut oil which was extra yummy. Thanks for a great recipe! I always look forward to your updates here in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

I tried this recipe today. The taste was amazing. It was super yummy. I had one problem though. I microwaved it for 1 min 30 secs only but it came out in a biscuit form. Any idea why it could have happened. I didn't have baking soda and hence used baking powder. Will that make any difference?
