Onion chutney takes place in our breakfast menu quite often, since hubby loves it so much. Ingredients for Onion Coconut Chutney
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Dry Red Chilli - 3 to 4
- Garlic - 3 to 4
- Onion - 1 large chopped
- Coconut - 3 tbsp
- Tamarind a small piece
- Salt to taste
For Seasoning:
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
- Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - ½ tsp
- Curry leaves a sprig
How to Make Onion Coconut Chutney
- Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and dry red chilli. Saute for a min.
- Add in onions and cook that for 5 mins or so.
- Add in coconut and mix well. Cook that for a min.
- Take this in a blender, add salt and tamarind. Grind it to a smooth paste. Take it in a bowl.
- Heat little oil in the same pan, crackle mustard and urad dal.
- Add in curry leaves and mix well. Pour this over the chutney and mix well.
- Serve.
