Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 12 to 13 mins
Chilling Time : 2 hours
Makes: 12 cookies
Ingredients:
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 cup (120 grams)
Cocoa Powder – 2 tblspn
Baking Powder – 3/4 tsp
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Salt a pinch
Egg – 1
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
Sugar – 1/2 cup (100 grams)
Chocolate Chips – 1/2 cup
Unsalted Butter – 1/4 cup / 50 grams)
Lemon Juice – 3/4 tsp
Powdered Sugar / Icing Sugar – 1/2 cup
Red Food Colouring as you needed
Milk – 1 tsp
(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)
Method:
Take red food colouring and milk in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.
Now take butter, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and cream well.
Add in egg and whisk till creamy.
Add in baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix well.
Add in cocoa powder and the red food colour and mix well.
Fold in the chocolate chips and mix well.
Add in flour and mix well.
Now cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and chill in fridge for 1 to 2 hour.
Preheat oven to 180 degree C / 350 degree F.
Remove from fridge and take 2 tblspn of dough and roll it into a ball. Now roll the ball in powdered sugar and arrange it in a parchment lined baking pan.
Pop this in oven and bake for 12 to 13 mins.
Remove from oven and let it cool down.
Now remove on to a cooling rack and cool completely.
Serve.

Hi. I found the cocoa powder to be too much in the recipe. The red colour didn’t show as a result. Can you please tell me what went wrong?
