Toor Dal Rice Upma Recipe
Ingredients
- Raw Rice - 1 cup
- Toor Dal - ½ cup
- Oil - 2 tblsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi a pinch
- Onion - 1 chopped finely
- Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves a sprig
- Salt to taste
- Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Take raw rice and toor dal in a blender and powder till fine.
- Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard, and all ingredients given and saute for a min.
- Add in 1 cup water for 1 cup ground powder.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Once it boils add in the flour. Mix well using the back of the spoon.
- If it is not crumbly add more flour and mix well.
- Cook till it gets crumbly.
- Cover and simmer for 5 mins.
- Serve.
