Wheat Rava Kesari Recipe

Ingredients

  • Wheat Rava / Broken Wheat / Gothumai Rava - ½ cup
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Sugar - ¾ cup
  • Cardamom Powder / Yelakai podi - ½ tsp
  • Ghee - 1 tblspn + 1 tsp
  • Cashewnuts - 1 tblspn
  • Sultanas / Kishmish - 1 tblspn
  • Food Colouring a pinch optional

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker.
  • Add in wheat rava and roast for a min.
  • Add in milk and water and mix well. Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistle, simmer the flame and cook for 5 mins. Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself. Open the cooker.
  • Add in sugar and keep cooking till it gets thick. Add little food colouring if you need.
  • Now heat ghee in a pan, add in cashews and fry till golden, add in kishmish and fry for few sec.
  • Pour this over the kesari and mix well..
  • Add in cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Serve warm.
