White Sauce Chicken Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Bread Slices - 6
  • Chicken Breast - 1 boneless cut into thin strips
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Oregano - 1 tsp
  • Cabbage - 1 cup sliced thinly
  • Bell Peppers - 1 sliced thinly i used red, yellow and green
  • Oil - 2 tblspn
  • For White Sauce:
  • Butter - 1 tblspn
  • All Purpose Flour - 2 tblspn
  • Milk - ¾ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Sugar - ½ tsp

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan, add chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook for couple of mins.
  • Add in oregano and mix well.
  • Add in veggies and season with some salt and pepper. Cook for 4 to 5 mins. Set this aside in a bowl.
  • Heat some butter in the same pan, add flour and roast for a min, add in milk and cook till it thickens, add salt , sugar and pepper to taste.
  • Now add veggies in and mix well.
  • Take bread and fill with this, cover with another bread and toast till golden on both sides.
  • Slice and serve.
