Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 2 large boiled peeled and mashed roughly
  • Oil - 1 tblspn
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
  • Green Chillies - 3 to 4 chopped finely
  • Ginger - 1 tblspn chopped finely
  • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - a pinch
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Water as needed
  • Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan - 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  • Add in ginger, green chillies and asafoetida and let them sizzle.
  • Add in turmeric and mix well.
  • Add in potatoes and toss well in the oil.
  • Add in water, salt and mix well.
  • Now bring this to a boil and simmer for 5 mins.
  • Mix gram flour with little water and add it in. Simmer for 5 mins.
  • Add coriander leaves and Mix well.
  • Serve with poori.
