Ingredients

  • 1 medium size Cheema Chakka / Bread Fruit
  • 1 large Onion
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder ./ Manjal Podi
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • 2 sprigs Curry Leaves
  • 2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  • Peel breadfruit and cube them. Take them in a pot along with onions, salt, turmeric powder and 1 cup of water. Cover and cook on a low heat for 15 mins till it is cooked. Now the water would be reduced as well.
  • Now heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard, urad dal and curry leaves. Let them sizzle.
  • Now add in the cooked bread fruit and salt and toss well. Fry this on medium heat till it is well caramelized.
  • Now add in chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well.
  • Cook that for few more mins.
  • Now serve with rice and rasam.
