Ingredients
▢
Oil - 1 tblspn
▢
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
▢
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
▢
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi a pinch
▢
Onions - 1 sliced thinly
▢
Tomato - 1 chopped finely
▢
Green Chilli -2
▢
Chettinad Kuzhambu Masala Powder - 2 tblspn
▢
Tamarind Pulp - 1 to 2 tblspn
▢
Salt to taste
▢
Sugar - ½ tsp
▢
Coconut - ½ cup grated and ground into a smooth paste
▢
Water as needed
Instructions
▢
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard, urad dal, asafoetida and sizzle them.
▢
Add in onions, chillies, tomatoes and saute till onions turn soft.
▢
Add in the masala powder and mix well.
▢
Add in water along with salt, sugar, tamarind and coconut paste.
▢
Bring this to a boil, simmer for 10 mins or till oil floats on top.
▢
Serve
