Ingredients

  • For Outer Layer:
  • 6 to 8 slices Bread
  • ½ cup Milk or as needed
  • Oil or Ghee for Pan Frying
  • For Filling:
  • ½ cup Khoya / Mawa
  • 1.5 tbsp Sugar
  • ¼ cup Nuts I used almonds, cashews, chironji
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • For Sugar Syrup:
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • ¾ cup Water
  • Saffron a pinch
  • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder

Instructions

  • First make the filling, heat a tsp of ghee in a pan, add nuts in and fry till golden. Take khoya, sugar and nuts in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.
  • Now make the syrup.Take sugar , water in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Now add in cardamom powder and saffron, mix well and set aside.
  • Take bread slices, remove the crust and tear it into small pieces. Add milk slowly and knead to a soft dough.
  • Now divide it into equal balls. Take a ball and flatten it lightly. Spoon little filling and bring it together and seal the edges.
  • Now flatten it lightly.
  • Heat oil for deep frying, put the bread in the oil and fry till golden.
  • Drain it and add to syrup, Coat it on both sides for just few sec
  • Remove it and serve.
