Ingredients

  • 2 cup roasted Vermicelli / Semiya
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
  • 1 small stick Cinnamon / Pattai
  • 1 tsp Fennel Seeds / Saunf / Sombu
  • 1 medium size sliced thinly Onion
  • 1 Kal Paasi
  • 1 Mace
  • 1 large sliced thinly Onion
  • 2 slit Green Chillies
  • 1 tblspn Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 sliced thinly Tomato
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tblspn Coriander Powder / Malli Podi
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
  • 2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 small chopped into small cubes Carrot
  • 6 chopped finely Beans
  • ½ cup Peas
  • ¼ cup finely chopped Coriander Leaves
  • ¼ cup chopped finely Mint Leaves
  • 2 cup Coconut Milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Take oil in a pan, add in add whole spices. Saute it for 30 sec.
  • Add in onions, green chillies and saute till golden.
  • Add in ginger garlic paste and salt. Saute for a min.
  • Add tomatoes and cook till mushy.
  • Add in all spice powders and saute for 10 sec or so.
  • Add in all the veggies and saute for 5 mins or so till the raw smell leaves away.
  • Add in semiya and toss well in the masala. Add in coriander leaves and mint leaves and mix well.
  • Add in water, coconut milk and salt. Bring it to boil. Simmer and cover the pan and cook it for 10 mins on low heat. Turn off the heat and fluff it lightly.. Now cover it and let it sit for 10 mins..
  • Serve with raita.
