Ingredients

  • For Cooking Turkey:
  • Turkey / Vaan Kozhi - 500 grams chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
  • Water - 1 cup
  • For Grinding:
  • Coconut - 1 cup grated
  • Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf - 1 tblspn
  • Cinnamon / Pattai - 5 cm piece
  • For Masala:
  • Coconut Oil - 3 tblspn
  • Onion - 1 large sliced thinly
  • Green Chillies - 3 slit
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblspn
  • Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder / Malli Podi - 1.5 tblspn
  • Garam Masala Powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Capsicum - 1 large sliced
  • Lemon Juice to taste
  • Coriander leaves a handful chopped

Instructions

  • In a pressure cooker, take turkey, salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder. Add some water and pressure cook for 3 whistle. Then simmer the flame and cook for 15 mins.
  • Now turn off the heat and let the pressure go all by itself. Open the cooker, drain the meat in a bowl. Use the liquid for soup or making rasam.
  • Take coconut and other ingredients mentioned in a blender and make it into a coarse mix. Dont add water.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in onions, chillies and saute till light golden.
  • Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
  • Now add in salt, chilli powder, coriander and garam masala powder and saute for 30 sec or so.
  • Add in the meat and toss well in the masala. Keep cooking till it gets nice colour.
  • Then add in capsicum and toss well for few more mins.
  • Add in coconut masala and mix well. Cook this for few more mins as well.
  • Add in lemon juice and coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot.
