Ingredients

  • ½ cup Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu
  • Salt to taste
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tblspn Ghee
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • 2 cut into small pieces Dry Red Chilli
  • 2 sprig Curry leaves
  • a pinch Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi

Instructions

  • Wash and take moong dal in a sauce pan, cover with 1.5 cup of water and bring it to a boil. Simmer for 15 to 20 mins till it is done.
  • Now make seasoning. Heat ghee in a pan, add in mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, chilli and asafoetida. Let them sizzle.
  • Add in turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Now pour dal in this and mix well. Season with salt.
  • Serve
