Lemon Soda Recipe

Lemon Soda is a refreshing carbonated summer beverage which is popular with the street vendors. This is made with lemon, salt, sugar and soda water also known as club soda. Lemon soda can be made many different ways and flavour combination. Popular ones are mint lemon soda, sweet lime soda, mint masala soda. In this blog post I have shared method of making lemon soda at home and many flavour combination that you can try. Learn how to make fresh lemon soda with step by step pictures and video.

Ingredients

Fresh Lemon Soda

  • 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp Salt -
  • 1 cup Club Soda chilled

Lemon Mint Soda

  • 3 cups Mint Leaves packed
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Ice Cubes as needed
  • Club Soda as needed

Instructions

How to Make Fresh Lemon Soda

  • Take a serving glass. Add in lemon juice, sugar and salt. Mix well till sugar melts. Top with chilled club soda and serve immediately.

How to make Lemon Mint Soda

  • Take mint, sugar, salt and lemon juice in a blender and puree till smooth. Add water as needed. Now strain this through a sieve and extract as much juice as possible.
  • Take this in a jug or a bottle and set aside.
  • For making the soda, take some mix in a cup, fill with ice and top with soda, mix well and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Lemon Soda has to be made fresh and served immediately. Since we are using club soda.
  • You can adjust sugar, salt and lemon juice to your taste preference.
  • Even if you prefer sweet lime soda, I strongly recommend you to add a pinch of salt to enhance the taste.
  • Lemon Soda has to be made cold to make it more refreshing.
  • Adding a lemon slice enhance the presentation and adds a lemony aroma.
  • Instead of using sugar, you can add in simple syrup as per your taste.

How to Make Simple Syrup for Drinks

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
Take sugar and water in a sauce pan. Place the sauce pan on heat and cook on medium heat stirring often. As you stir the sugar will melt and starts to boil. Once it reaches a boiling stage. Take it off the heat and allow it to cool. Store in a clean bottle.
You can keep the simple syrup in fridge and enjoy it whenever you need it. You can store this upto 3 months or more when properly refrigerated.
