Ingredients

  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • 1 medium size chopped finely Onion
  • 1 chopped finely Carrot
  • 10 finely chopped Beans
  • 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds / Kaduku
  • a pinch Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi
  • 1 spring Curry leaves
  • a small handful Coriander leaves
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Take wheat flour in a dry pan and roast it for 10 mins till you get nice aroma..Allow this to cool a bit..
  • Now heat oil in a kadai and add mustard and urad dal, curry leaves.
  • Add onion, carrot, beans in this and sauté for 3 mins. Pour water and add salt to this.
  • Bring this to boil and add in wheat flour slowly while stiring constantly.
  • When everything is mixed well.
  • Now allow this mixture to cool down and form small balls out of it.
  • Put those dumplings in a oiled steamer basket ( I used my idli stand) and steam it for 5 to 7 mins.
  • Remove and serve it with chutney or as it is..
