Ingredients

  • 2 cups Poha / Aval / Flattened Rice
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 large Onion chopped finely
  • 3 to 5 Green Chillies chopped finely
  • 1 tbsp Peanuts
  • 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi
  • Curry leaves a sprig
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp + ½ tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
  • Lemon Juice to taste
  • Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped
  • ½ cup Water

Instructions

  • Take poha in a bowl. Add in water, salt, ½ tsp turmeric, lemon juice and mix well. Set aside.
  • Now heat oil in a kadai. Add in peanuts and roast till golden. Add in mustard, urad dal, hing and mix well. Fry till it turns golden.
  • Add in onions, curry leaves and green chilli. Add in little salt and sugar along with turmeric. Mix well.
  • Now add in the poha and toss well. Once everything is heated up, add in coriander leaves and mix
  • Mix well and serve.
