Badam Milk Powder, is a handy instant milk mix made with badam, palm candy, saffron, cardamom. This badam mix is made by roasting fresh almonds which has an intense almond flavour. This is a great substitute for authentic badam milk which takes more time to make. Learn how to make instant homemade badam drink mix with step by step pictures and video.
Take almonds in a sauce pan, cover with water, heat it and bring it to a boil. Once it boils, take it off the heat and set aside for 5 mins. Now drain it and wash it with cold water. Now squeeze and remove the skin. Pat the almonds dry with a paper towel.
Preheat oven to 160 degree C. Now put the almonds in a baking pan and roast it for 15 mins. Remove it cool it completely.
Now take cardamom, saffron, turmeric powder, palm sugar in a blender and powder it. Now add in the cooled almonds and powder it once. DON'T OVER GRIND IT, ELSE IT WILL TURN INTO A PASTE. Now remove to a bowl and cool little. Now pour this in a bottle and store it in fridge.
For making badam milk. just take 1 to 2 tblspn of the powder in a cup and pour boiling hot milk and mix well. Serve immediately.
Notes
Instead of roasting almonds in oven. You can dry roast them on low heat in a kadai.
Instead of palm candy, you can use sugar or sugar candy.
Adding turmeric powder is optional, you can skip it.
When grinding almond powder, don't over grind else it may turn paste like.
You can add this powder to milk and boil for 5 minutes which adds more flavour.
Storage & Serving
You can store this powder in a dry glass container in fridge for upto 3 month or more. You can store this at room temperature for a month.You can make the drink hot or cold as per your taste.
