Ammini Kozhukattai Recipe with step by step pictures. Ammini kozhukattai is tiny mini kozhukattai which is steamed and tossed in seasoning. Sometimes it is made spicy with a spicy powder tossed all over. You can make it into sweet ammini kozhukattai as well. It is also called as mani kozhukattai. In this blog post, i have shared three version of making ammini kozhukattai.

Ingredients

  • For Dough:
  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • ½ cup Fresh Coconut grated
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • For Tempering:
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Urad dal
  • 2 Dry Red Chilli broken into small pieces
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • ½ cup Fresh Coconut grated

Instructions

  • Bring water to a boil in a sauce pan. When it starts to boil, take it off the heat and add in salt and oil. Add in rice flour and mix well. It will get thick. Now cover it and let it cool down.
  • Once it is cooled, add in some grated coconut and make small balls out of it. Place the balls in a oiled steaming plate and place it in steam and steam cook for 7 to 8 mins. Remove it and allow it to cool down.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in all tempering items except coconut,saute it for a min,
  • Add in kozhukattai and some salt. Mix well.
  • Add in grated coconut and toss well.
  • Serve.
