Ingredients
▢

cup
Green Gram / Pacha Payaru
▢
1
tbsp
Jaggery / Sarkarai
▢
Salt to taste
▢
3
tbsp
grated Coconut
▢
For Tempering:
▢

tsp
Oil
▢

tsp
Mustard seeds / Kaduku
▢

tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu
▢

cut into small pieces Dry Red Chilli

Instructions
▢
Soak green gram in lots of water overnight or upto 8 hours.
▢
Drain them and add it to a sauce pan. Cover it with water, simmer the pan and cook for 15 to 20 mins till it is completely cooked.

Drain them and set aside.
▢
Make jaggery syrup. Take jaggery and add a splash of water. Boil it till the jaggery is melted. Strain and set aside.
▢
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in the seasoning ingredients and saute for a min.
▢
Now add in cooked dal and salt. Mix well.
▢
Pour in jaggery water and cook on high heat till the water is absorbed by the dal.
▢
Now add in grated coconut and mix well.
▢
Serve.
