Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried White Peas / Vatana
  • ½ cup chopped into tiny pieces Raw Mango
  • ½ cup finely grated Coconut
  • 1 small finely chopped Onion
  • 1 finely chopped Green Chilli
  • ½ tsp Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • 1 spring Curry leaves

Instructions

  • Soak peas overnight or for 8 hours and add it to pressure cooker along with some salt. Cover with water and pressure cook it for 2 whistle. Let the
  • steam go all by itself. Open the pressure cooker and drain them. Set aside till use.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in the seasoning ingredients and saute for 30 sec.
  • Now add in onions, green chilli and give a quick toss.
  • Add in raw mango and mix once.
  • Add in the cooked peas, chilli powder, salt and mix well.
  • Once mixed add in coconut and mix once.
  • Serve.
