Ingredients

  • 1 cup / 120 grams All Purpose Flour / Maida
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 50 grams Soft Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup / 200 grams Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • ¼ cup / 60 ml / 2 fluid ounces Fresh Orange Juice
  • ½ cup / 120 ml / 4 fluid ounces Milk
  • 1 tbsp Orange zest from 2 oranges

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180 Degree C / 360 Degree F.
  • Grease a baking tin with butter and dust it with flour, tap off the excess flour and set it aside till use.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt together till it is well combined. Set it aside till use.
  • Now take butter, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and cream them well.
  • Now Add in half the milk and mix them around.
  • Add in flour mix and give them a stir.
  • Pour the remaining milk and orange juice and mix them well.
  • Fold in the orange zest as well.
  • Now bake it in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 mins till a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it cool down, now invert the cake. Slice and serve.
