Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice Cooked
  • 3 large Gooseberry / Nellikai grated
  • 1 tbsp Coconut grated
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Sugar
  • For Seasoning:
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds / Jeerakam
  • 2 tbsp Peanuts
  • 1 tsp Channa Dal / Kadalai Paruppu
  • 2 chopped finely Green Chilli
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in all the seasoning ingredients and let it sizzle for 2 mins on a low heat.
  • Now add in gooseberry and coconut. Toss well in the seasoning.
  • Add in salt and sugar as well..Mix well.
  • Now add in the cooked rice and mix well. Fry the rice in the masala till it heats through.
  • Serve hot.
