Potato - 2 large peeled and sliced into thick slices
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
Oil - 6 tblspn
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1 tsp
For Grinding:
Onion - 1 large chopped
Tomatoes - 3 large chopped
Ginger - 1 inch piece peeled
Garlic - 6 cloves peeled
Green Chilli - 2
Spice Powders:
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder / Malli podi - 1 tblspn
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Instructions
Heat 2 tblspn of oil and add the ladysfinger and fry them till golden. Remove them to a plate. Heat 2 tblspn of oil again and fry the sliced potatoes till golden. Remove them on to a plate.
Grind all the ingredients given in the list to a fine paste. Set this aside till use.
Heat 2 tblspn oil and add cumin seeds, add the ground masala and cook them till oil separates from it.
Add in salt, sugar and all the spice powders in. Mix well and let them cook for a min.
Add in some water and bring everything to a boil.
Add in fried ladysfinger and potatoes and mix well. Lower the flame and let them simmer till oil separates from it.
