Korean Corn Cheese Recipe with Step by Step Pictures. Cheese is a very popular Korean snack which is served in Korean bar along with some drinks. This Taste amazing piping hot and is super easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Butter + 1 tsp
  • 1 Onion Chopped
  • 1 cup Sweet Corn Kernels
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese

Instructions

  • Heat a skillet on high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt. To the butter add in chopped onions and sauté for two minutes. Add in sweetcorn kernels and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add in salt, pepper and sugar and mix well. Remove this to a bowl and set aside.
  • Now to the sweet corn add in mayonnaise and half cup of mozzarella cheese. Mix it really well.
  • Now take your sizzler plate. Put it on flame and heat it on medium heat. Melt some butter on the sizzle plate and spread evenly. Add in the corn mixture and spread. Top it with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Preheat your oven to broil | grill mode at 250 degree C. Place your sizzle plate under the broiler and cook for 2 to 4 mins till the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Remove it carefully from oven and place it on the wooden serving dish of the sizzler plate and serve hot.

Stove Top Corn Cheese Recipe

  • Heat a small skillet on high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt.
  • To the butter add in chopped onions and sauté for two minutes. Add in sweetcorn kernels and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes. Add in salt, pepper and sugar and mix well.
  • Remove this to a bowl and add in mayonnaise and half cup of mozzarella cheese. Mix it really well.
  • Spoon this back into the pan which you were cooking the corn.
  • Spread the corn mix evenly in the pan.
  • Put it on heat again and sprinkle with extra mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook on medium high heat for 5 mins till cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve the corn cheese right from the pan.

Tips & Tricks

  • You can use fresh sweet corn and remove the kernels by yourselves.
  • Canned corn or frozen sweet corn can be used as well.
  • Adding finely chopped garlic, bell peppers, rice cakes, green chilli pepper increases the taste.
  • If you prefer more creamy corn and cheese, add extra mayonnaise and cheese.
  • Don’t have an oven, you can make the corn cheese entirely on stove top. I have added instructions in this blog post.
  • Add as much cheese as needed.
  • You can sprinkle the top with dried parsley or fresh parsley as needed.
  • Any seasoning of your choice can be added in this corn cheese.

Storage & Serving Suggestions

  • Corn cheese doesn’t have more shelf life. It is best made fresh and served immediately.
  • Serve corn cheese piping hot right in their pan or sizzler plate with toasted bread or any cold beverages of your choice.
